The French attacking midfielder says that the new coach is testing different formations at the Allianz Arena as Bayern Munich step up preparations for the new season.


Bayern Munich attacker Franck Ribery says that Pep Guardiola's coaching methods are "weird".


The Bavarians are currently in Trentino, preparing for their first season under their new coach, and the 30-year-old says that the Spaniard is trying out new systems, with a shift to a slightly different formation on the cards.

"The 4-1-4-1 system is weird," Ribery told Bild of Guardiola's intended tactical alteration.

"It's new, it's completely different. We need to train, talk and learn to perfect it.

"It's normal that the coach wants to try things."


Bayern kick off their Bundesliga season with a home clash with Borussia Monchengladbach on August 9.
