Final year Civil Engineering student Killed in Imo

A 25-year-old final year student of Civil Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, Innocent Ndukwe has been murdered in cold blood by three suspected assailants.


According to the commissioner of Police, CP Taiwo Lakanu, the suspects, after slaughtering their victim, made away with his Pathfinder SUV with Reg No KRD-109, two plasma TV sets, one home theatre music set and assorted personal effects.

The Commissioner of Police made this known to journalists when he paraded the suspects at the police command headquarters, Owerri.

He said that the police control room, following a report of the gruesome incident, quickly alerted operatives of the command who immediately searched the entire state.

“As a result, the assailants who tried to escape, the eagle-eyed operatives were subsequently apprehended along West-End, old Nekede road, Owerri.”

He stated that the late Mr Ndukwe was found in a pool of his own blood in a toilet at his residence at No 18 Enuwa Street, Egbu, in the Owerri North Local Government Area.

Lakanu gave the names of the suspects who later confessed to the crime as: David Kwaguru, 30, from Sirwo in Lantan North LGA of Plateau State, Friday Ayuba, 28, – a native of Keyelda in Jos North LGA, Plateau State, and Francis Amos, 23, years, a native of Pingali in Lantan South LGA also in Plateau State.

The CP explained that his initiative directing Area Commanders, DPOs, HODs and other high ranking officers in the state to disseminate their phone numbers to members of the public for effective communication and intelligence gathering had continued to yield fruit and had assisted the police in clamping down the suspects.
