Henderson County deputies charged one young mother with a felony count of criminal offenses against animals after authorities said they found a homemade video on her computer documenting sexual acts made with a family pet. Deputies arrested Carrie Thomas, 24, Friday afternoon in Henderson County after a tip led authorities to her home where they confiscated her computer.

"We have video evidence to prove Miss Thomas was allowing her own animal to perform sexual acts on her," said Capt. Tracey Grisham, of the Henderson County Sheriff's Dept. "I cannot explain it. My first thought wasn't even a thought, I was just shocked because yes, we have to review the video and I couldn't believe what I was seeing."

Investigators said they believe the video was made more than a year ago inside of Thomas' home off of Highway 22 in Reagan.

Even though Thomas does not live there anymore, neighboring dog owners told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they were horrified to learn of the crimes she's now accused of.

"I think that's the most awful stuff I've ever heard in my life," said neighbor Burlin Weaver. "That just doesn't seem real for people to do something like that."

Deputies sent the computer to the TBI Crime Lab months ago, where agents downloaded everything off of its hard-drive. Capt. Grisham said agents found more pornographic videos involving animals and humans in sexual situation that had been downloaded off of the internet.

"These were not homemade videos that were downloaded but it was all animal porn," said Capt. Grisham.

Deputies said to their knowledge Thomas' puppy was the only animal she sexually victimized. Officers said the dog has since been adopted by another family.

" I'd probably want to shoot somebody that done one of my pups like that," said Weaver.

Some family members told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that Thomas does not have custody of her young child. Deputies said the charge of criminal offenses against animals is a felony punishable by up to six years in prison. Thomas is currently jailed in the Henderson County Jail without bond.
