Federal High Court affirms Okezie Ikpeazu As Abia governor, dismisses forgery suit

The Federal High Court in Owerri, presided upon by Justice A.I Allagoa has today Friday 8th of July, 2016 affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

Ruling on the matter filed by Mr. Friday Nwosu against, Ikpeazu on alleged forgery of tax documents, the court ruled that the plaintiff, (Nwosu) was unable to prove that the tax documents were forged. The court also ruled that the tax documents in question were original and went on to dismiss the matter.

In a related development, an Abia State High Court in Osisioma granted a motion filed by Ikpeazu for extension of the order restraining the Chief Judge of Abia State, the President Abia State Customary Court of Appeal and any other judicial officer from swearing in Mr. Uche Ogah, as governor of the state. The order was extended to 18th July, 2016.
