Tragedy struck Wednesday morning when a 3 storey building collapsed at swamps street, up Odunfa street Lagos Island, trapping occupants in the process.
Although a rescue operation by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, is ongoing at the Scene, no deaths have been reported so far.
An eyewitness account hint that 4 people have been rescued alive while many are still believed to be trapped under the rubble.
The General Manger, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Mr. Michael Akindele and the Director Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe who were at the scene confirmed the incidence.
“People were reported trapped and search and rescue operations are ongoing,” said Fadipe.
