Cross River Commissioner-nominees to Write Aptitude Test before confirmation
03:43UnknownGovernor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade, has directed that all nominees for appointments as commissioners and special advisers should be subjected to various tests, including integrity and aptitude examinations.
He said the examinations are mandatory, irrespective of the background of the prospective appointees.
According to a statement signed on his behalf by his media aide, Mr. Christian Ita, the governor said the nominees would have to undergo the aptitude test before their names would be forwarded to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.
Ayade also stressed that chairmen and members of boards, agencies and parastatals would also follow the same routine.
The governor said the essence of the test was to forewarn would be commissioners and other political appointees about emphasis on accountability and transparency.
Renowned Abuja-based lawyer Paul Erokoro is the chairman of the committee, which has prominent woman leader and politician, Rev (Mrs.) Grace Ekanem and Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr. Martin Orim, as members.
