Ikechukwu Uche is in sparkling form for Villarreal recently and just to show how confident he is in his ability, he claimed his second goal of the game, striking lethally with an acrobatic overhead kick.

Ike Uche made a strong case for an Eagles recall on Sunday night after he scored twice for Villarreal against Levante in the Spanish La Liga.

Despite the tough competition for a seat on the plane to Brazil next summer, Coach Stephen Keshi surely must be keeping an eye on taking Uche to the World Cup, if he can keep this sort of dazzling form going this season.

Uche, who has not played for Nigeria since the Africa Cup of Nations in February, was on target in 74th and 89th minutes for Villarreal’s second and third goals on Sunday.

He has now scored six goals in 11 games and Villarreal are fourth on the league table with 27 points from 14 games.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has said he has overlooked the striker because they do not play for the team.

In Belgium, former Nigeria youth international Michael Uchebo was on target for Cercle Brugge in a 4-2 home loss to Lierse.

The former Enugu Rangers striker scored in the 80th minute to take the game to 2-2.  He has now scored four goals in the league this term.
