Three children and two adults have been injured after a school bus crashed into a house at a military base in Texas.The driver of the bus said the brakes failed as he was taking 25 children home from Fort Sam Houston Elementary School on Friday.

The vehicle ran into a home in a military housing area at the base in central San Antonio.

Fort Sam Houston spokesman Brent Boller said two children on the bus, one child in the house, the bus driver and a substitute teacher were injured.

All five suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
