Injured Lawmaker, Michael Chinda is to be flown abroad for medical treatment

Following the injuries sustained by the Lawmaker representing Obio/akpor constituency two in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Michael Chinda at the fracas in the House on Tuesday, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
leadership in the State said it has concluded arrangements to fly him abroad for further medical treatment.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Party Chairman Jerry Needam told Newsmen that Hon. Chinda’s condition is critical.
Jerry Needam explained that the Lawmaker cannot speak as a result of the injury to his face.
He criticized the Leader of the State House of Assembly Chidi Llyod for causing badly harm to his collegue.
It would be recalled that the Y-tube video of the fight at the House showed Hon. Chidi Llyod heating Hon. Chinda during the fight.
Meanwhile the Grassroots Development Initiative has condemned the recent attack on a member of the Rivers State house of Assembly Michael Chinda by leader Chidi Llyod.
Chairman of the association Corlin Onunwo told newsmen that they paid Hon. Chinda a visit in the Hospital and that the lawmaker has been unconscious since the incidence on Tuesday.
Onunwo said the video tape of the attack which has gone virile on the internet showed that the perpetrators of the act attempted to commit murder.
”sobbing, I saw Hon. M. O. Chinda that left to legislate for Obio/akpor people, getting to that place, Hon. Chidi Llyod and the ADC to the Governor of Rivers State beat him mercilessly, beat him to stupor, sobbing again, if anything happens to him, if anything happens to him, M. O. Chinda cannot talk, M. O. Chinda cannot speak” he said.
He called on the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to investigate the matter and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.
