Following the suspension of the five-month industrial strike by the academic union, ASUU, the Senate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria yesterday reviewed the university’s academic calendar and fixed Sunday, December 29, 2013 as the resumption date.

In a statement issued to the public, the Director of the university’s public affairs directorate, Dr. Isma’il Shehu, said the academic calendar was reviewed after the suspension of the ASUU strike.

The decision was taken at the senate’s 459th emergency meeting following the suspension of the five-month strike by the academic staff of the university.

“Meanwhile, all applicants that selected ABU as their first choice but were not able to register for the post-UTME examination are given the opportunity to report to the main campus of the university for the examination on Saturday, December 21, 3013, as the exercise is expected to wind up on that date,” Dr. Shehu said.
