The Father of Former Big Brother Africa Zimbabwean housemate Pokello Nare, deliberately avoided meeting his daughter’s boyfriend, Ghanaian Elikem Komordzie when he came into the country last week.
Pokello’s  father, Retired Colonel George Nare,  revealed that he avoided meeting his daughter’s boyfriend when he visited Bulawayo last week, as he believes meeting him was against tradition.

Contrary to media reports by the lovebirds that he was busy, he revealed that despite his daughter’s celebrity status and the publicity that the relationship had received, he still believed that tradition had to be adhered to.
Pokello's father snubs Elikem
“My daughter called me and told me she was coming to Bulawayo with her boyfriend and wanted me to meet him, but I was very frank with her and I told her that it was against our tradition. I am happy for her and it is easy for her to be introduced to his family but not otherwise, I can only be able to meet him when they come for official introductions,” he said.

The couple has been on cloud nine since the end of the reality television show last month and are seemingly “madly in love”.

Nare, a farmer and miner said the relationship was still in its early stages and as such it was difficult for him to judge.

“Right now they are boyfriend and girlfriend; it’s the circumstances of their celebrity status that have made it so public otherwise I would not have known. As a father I believe Pokello is a grown up woman who makes her own decisions and she has chosen to fall in love with this guy, Elikem and her happiness is what counts most to us.

“All I can do is help her make the best of her life and facilitate her to achieve her goals,” Rtd Col Nare said.

Elikem was given a special welcome by fans in Zimbabwe.  The Ghanaian tailor, during his stay in Zimbabwe visited Pokello’s other family members, attended three parties, made some donations to Thembiso Children’s Home in Luveve, and also met his fans in Zimbabwe.

Pokello received a special welcome from her in-laws-to-be when she arrived in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday.
